The WWE RAW broadcast on July 29, 2024, will advance multiple storylines leading up to SummerSlam 2024 PLE and serve as RAW’s send-off episode. At SummerSlam, Gunther is scheduled to face World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest; however, following a confrontation sparked by Gunther’s critical remarks about Priest last week, the two were ejected from the building. Finn Balor, Priest’s stablemate, now wants to take the initiative and convince Gunther that fighting Judgment Day is foolish. The news that Seth Rollins would be the match’s special guest referee last week in the Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk Storyline presented a huge surprise. He will give the two men his referee’s orders. Although Sheamus triumphed over Bronson Reed two weeks ago, the two will face off in a rematch this week. After The Final Testament used outside intervention to defeat Woods, Otis, and Akira Tozawa in a trios match, Woods also asked for a singles match against Kross. Once more, Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance will try to stop Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, and Zoey Stark from torturing the women’s division. However, their most recent try at a trios match ended horribly. When the Creed Brothers fought Otis and Akira Tozawa last week, they cemented their alliance with Chad Gable. This week, Otis and Tozawa will square off in a tag bout where they could get their retribution.
Seth’s significant involvement in Punk and McIntyre’s fight is a source of frustration for both parties. They are also not pleased that Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has forbidden them from touching each other before the contest. Occasionally, a wrestler will attempt to circumvent this rule by pursuing his opponent’s friends or family, but it’s unclear at this point whether Punk and McIntyre have any friends in the WWE.
