TNA’s Joe Hendry Cuts Cryptic Promo On WWE NXT

Joe Hendry boldly told the “WWE NXT” audience that even if no one mentions his name, his presence will be obvious the following week. This comes after he defeated Joe Coffey of Gallus, a feat made possible by Coffey’s weeks-long jealousy stemming from Hendry’s rise to fame as a TNA Wrestling talent that has been featured on “NXT.”

The Great American Bash’s first night brought the tension to a head when Hendry sang a song about Gallus, which sparked an attack by the gang in the center of the ring. The match was then rescheduled for Tuesday’s “NXT” special, where Hendry defeated Coffey in his WWE singles debut, winning with a Standing Ovation as his finisher.

Joe Hendry, who is still under contract with TNA but may train at the Performance Center and appearances on “NXT,” was questioned about his tenure with WWE’s developmental brand after his match. In his response to the interviewer, Hendry suggested that his stay in NXT might not be complete. He said he was enjoying NXT and that he “might just stay for a lot longer.”

While he accepted that many people in the locker room might not agree with this, he asked anyone who was having issues to come see him on the show the following Tuesday.

Hendry is currently able to train at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and wrestle for both TNA and WWE in addition to competing on the independent circuit. The ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA, which was launched this summer, includes this special arrangement. One of the highlights of the partnership was when TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace made an appearance in NXT to compete for the NXT Women’s Championship.
