Improving technical proficiency and exposing participants to a variety of training partners and coaching philosophies were the main objectives. As a common language, wrestling assisted participants in overcoming obstacles and forming connections.

Fair play and clean sport were the main topics of an anti-doping education workshop conducted on July 2 by Gorica Milovanovic of the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia. Athletes’ safety and well-being were guaranteed by safeguarding workshops led by Lei Liang from UWW Development.

Apart from the intense training, the program included leisure pursuits including swimming, interesting games, and a tour guide-led of Belgrade. A game of tennis gave the athletes’ regimens some variation.

Positive comments poured in, with German coach Michele Rauhut expressing gratitude: “The German team is very appreciative of this very excellent training camp. Lei, thank you so much for your assistance and the wonderful arrangement! Many thanks to Marty for an excellent training session! Everything about it was ideal!

Beyond just a training exercise, the UWW More Than Medals Europe U17 Training Camp in Zrenjanin was something more. It embodied sportsmanship and global togetherness while giving young athletes lifelong memories and friendships.
