Bryan Danielson secured a historic victory in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament final on a recent episode of “AEW Dynamite.” In addition to showcasing his wrestling skills, Danielson’s victory over “Hangman” Adam Page prepared the audience for his impending world title match at All In, which would take place on August 25 at Wembley Stadium. As he intends to terminate his full-time wrestling career by the end of 2024, Danielson’s bout against the current champion, Swerve Strickland, may prove to be a pivotal one for him.

With Jeff Jarrett playing the role of special guest enforcer—derived from his earlier fight with Page in the tournament—the contest got off to a lively start. Danielson used the LeBell Lock to force a submission right away, but Page was able to break out. After a commercial break, Page unleashed a tombstone piledriver, which Danielson managed to avoid. The tension increased. Page launched another piledriver onto the floor as the action spilled outside the ring.

Danielson managed a Busaiku Knee despite Page’s exhausting offensive, but he was too tired to try a cover. At the center of the ring, the wrestlers proceeded to trade blows to the head. More pandemonium ensued as Danielson’s misdirected Psycho Knee hit the referee. Page grabbed his belt and tried to use it as a weapon, but Jarrett stopped him, pulled out a referee shirt, and took over as referee. Page hit Danielson with a Deadeye and a Buckshot Lariat in the commotion, but Danielson held on. Danielson won this crucial “AEW Dynamite” bout by reversing Page’s crossfade into a pinfall in a stunning move.
