Upon his return to AEW, MJF promptly regains his position as the promotion’s top star. By declaring that he is AEW for life, he abruptly ended the Bidding War of 2024 angle at Double or Nothing. In the process, he exacted some retribution on Adam Cole, which allows MJF to start a rivalry with someone else until Cole is given the all-clear to rejoin.
Now that he’s back in the AEW, who will MJF wrestle before anyone else? Already, RUSH has taken a stand and made it apparent that he desires a share of Friedman. Given that RUSH has never been pushed in AEW to a level that approaches MJF’s, this match doesn’t feel like a pay-per-view. However, they might schedule a date for tonight’s MJF vs. RUSH match while hinting at something more significant for MJF at Forbidden Door.
