Big bouts were revealed by AEW for the AEW Dynamite episode airing on May 15, 2024. The AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, the IWGP World Champion Jon Moxley, and the Women’s Champion Toni Storm will all be competing. The winner of the encounter between Strickland and his erstwhile comrade Brian Cage will receive a chance to defend the AEW World title. Cage and his group, Gates of Agony, abandoned Strickland last week on Dynamite. Strickland responded with a countermove following their encounter at Collision this evening. Jon Moxley and his Blackpool Combat Club partner Bryan Danielson will be facing Jeff Cobb and Kyle Fletcher of the United Empire. Don Callis disclosed that he brought in Cobb in an attempt to exact revenge on Moxley for hurting Powerhouse Hobbs three weeks prior during a match.
