The WWE Hall Of Famer Arn Anderson Says Made His Career

Thanks to fellow WWE Hall of Famer Junkyard Dog, Arn Anderson shared a stunning turn in his storied career that he feels made his entire career.

In addition to being a well-respected in-ring technician, Anderson was one of the original Four Horsemen, and he made enormous contributions to the profession. But in an interview with “Stories With Brisco and Bradshaw,” he claimed that JYD was responsible for him teaming up with Ole Anderson to become Arn Anderson.

Anderson described a pivotal event when working with Bill Watts to come up with concepts for a tag partner.

While we were watching TV, Bill Watts told everyone to gather in one room. He stated, “We need to find you a partner and we’ll see any ideas?” Furthermore, no one had any concepts.

Anderson revealed. Next, JYD spoke forward and proposed:

Hello Bill, how about you send Lunde [to Jim Crockett] to be made into an Anderson? He looks exactly like Ole Anderson.

After considering this surprising recommendation, Anderson was appreciative and said:

If it weren’t for JYD, I would not have existed at all. Thus, that is the way things work in this industry.

Anderson immediately recognized Ole Anderson when they met.

They summon us inside. Ole said, “Damn you do look like me,” as soon as I walked in. He said, “I’ll tell you what, we’ll give it a try,” but I wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad idea. We will refer to you as Arn Anderson. That’s exactly how it came to be that day.

Arn Anderson had nothing but praise for WWE Vice President of Global Talent Development William Regal, even going so far as to rank him among the company’s top ten wrestlers of all time. Anderson also expressed his belief that, in a modern-day matchup, Regal and he would win the Tag Team Championships.
