Jeff Hardy Recalls The WWE Match That Made Him Never Want To Wrestle Again

Jeff Hardy, a former WWE Champion and current TNA star, talked about a crucial early moment in his wrestling career that left him feeling “terrified.”

In an open conversation on “Busted Open Radio,” Jeff Hardy talked about his memorable 16-year-old match against the legendary character played by Scott Hall, Razor Ramon. The youthful Hardy fought a future WWE Hall of Famer in a high-stakes battle that was a major turning point in his career.

Hardy talked about how the encounter was both intimidating and forming, sharing how it almost ended his love of wrestling before it could take off. Thinking back on the game, Hardy said:

I can only conclude that the ring was really difficult back then when I consider that match. I weighed between 185 and 190 pounds, and it was really difficult. It was our first time in there, and Scott Hall was a little stiff about a couple of things. You know, I was sixteen and really scared. It was simply difficult.

Hardy said that the match’s intensity made him wonder about his future in the game.

I thought to myself after it was over, “Oh my God, I never want to do that again.”

But when Hardy competed against Sean Waltman, also known as the 1-2-3 Kid, the very next night, his love for wrestling was kindled once more.

It was enjoyable once more and it filled my soul.,

He reflected, stressing the tenacity that would come to characterize his work.
